Phishing/spoofing alert from Alertpay
July 30, 2006
The payment processor Alertpay is no exception. Alertpay warned its members of an email requiring Alertpay members to sign in to avoid account suspension. It reiterated that sending email of this nature is against its policy.
The said email which is circulating around is a clear phishing attempt to steal members’ log in information. For those account holders who provided their log information thru the link provided by the email, they are enjoined to log in to the legitimate site of Alert pay and change their password at once. Moreover, account holders are enjoined to visit AlertPay Security Center http://www.alertpay.com/SiteSecurityCenter.aspx to secure their accounts.
