GCgold’s act of deception

December 25, 2006

Warnings are up that GCgold is a fake payment processor. Its intention is to steal online users’ information thru its PE-toke application, a requirement for GCgold members to run on their PCs. This application as reported contains 2 hidden Trojan horses. If this is installed, what ever you send online will also be sent to GCgold.

If you have installed this on your PC, better change your payment processors’ passwords using a clean PC or run a diskless CD to access the internet. If you cannot get rid of these Trojan horses, you might as well wipe out your hard drive. The hassle is worth more than then agony of losing your funds.

Is GCgold a big Christmas hoax?

December 24, 2006

GCgold just popped up as a new international currency. It boasts its instant exchange feature from/into all major e-currencies like e-gold,pecunix, 1MDC, e-bullion, GoldMoney and Webmoney. Moreover, GCgold offers low transaction rate for its debit card. For new sign ups, GCGold is giving away $20 which can be widthdrawn instantly to your e-gold account. The free $20 is only good until December 25, 2006.

While those in the get paid industry welcome new currency with open arms like GCgold, it appears that GCgold is making the wrong signal. For account holders, you have to download its so called PE-Token technology application and run on year PC. It is an executable file claimed to generate the necessary key to open your account. Is this application safe? You can try if you would like to run the risk of infecting your PC with a potential spyware.
